When it comes to trusting the Lord, what does the Bible have to say?
The Bible is full of countless verses to help us as we choose to take that step of faith and trust in the Lord. Whatever storm you’re facing, I promise you, there is a verse for it. I’m so thankful for God’s word that is always speaking to me throughout each season of my life. All of the verses in the Bible are meant to give us strength and comfort as we go through this life. They are meant to convicts us and propel us in the right direction. God’s word, ultimately is meant to lead us closer to Him.
Today I thought I’d share with you a few of my favorite verses on trust. I could probably fill pages and pages with all the scriptures in the bible that talk about trusting in the Lord but for this post, I will just focus on sharing my favorites. So here you go!
Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Isaiah 26:3 – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
Psalm 37:4-5 – “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”
Psalm 28:7 – “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
Psalm 118:8 – “It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.”
Psalm 91:1-2 – “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most-Highwill rest in the shadow of the Almighty.I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 56:3-4 – “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
May these verses be an encouragement to your heart as you trust in Him each day. If there are any verses that have helped you in your walk to trust him more I’d love to hear. Let me know in the comments what some of your favorite verses are!
